This Privacy Policy describes how Zaber (“Zaber,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use our iOS mobile application (the “App”).

Zaber is a social challenge app where users create timed competitions to reduce phone usage and compare Screen Time results with friends.

By using the App, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

 

1. Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly, information collected automatically, and information processed by service providers.

 

A. Information You Provide

When you create an account, we may collect:

  • Name or display name

  • Email address

  • Username

We do not collect Social Security numbers, bank account information, or payment details.

 

B. Screen Time Data

With your explicit permission, Zaber accesses Apple Screen Time data, including:

  • Total device screen time

  • App usage duration

Screen Time data is used only to:

  • Calculate challenge results

  • Rank participants

  • Display performance metrics within the App

We do not use Screen Time data for advertising, profiling, or marketing.

Zaber does not alter or control how Apple calculates Screen Time metrics.

 

C. Challenge Settlement Confirmation

At the end of a challenge, users must confirm whether the game has been settled before starting a new one.

This confirmation is:

  • A procedural in-app requirement

  • Not a payment verification system

  • Not financial processing

Zaber does not handle, process, collect, or distribute money between users.

Any agreements between participants occur entirely outside the App.

 

D. Automatically Collected Technical Data

We may collect limited technical data, such as:

  • Device type

  • iOS version

  • App version

  • Crash logs

  • Performance diagnostics

This information is used to:

  • Maintain app functionality

  • Improve performance

  • Detect and fix technical issues

 

2. How We Use Information

We use collected information to:

  • Provide and operate the App

  • Facilitate user-created challenges

  • Maintain rankings

  • Authenticate users

  • Ensure platform integrity

  • Prevent abuse or manipulation

We do not sell personal information.

We do not use personal information for targeted advertising.

 

3. Third-Party Service Providers

We use trusted third-party service providers to operate the App.

Firebase (Google)

We use Firebase for:

  • User authentication

  • Secure cloud storage

  • Real-time game synchronization

  • Database hosting

  • Crash reporting

Firebase processes data according to its own privacy policies.

We do not control how third-party providers process data under their policies.

 

4. No Financial Services

Zaber does not:

  • Process payments

  • Hold funds

  • Facilitate wagers

  • Set odds or payouts

  • Act as a financial intermediary

Any external agreements between users are made independently and outside the App.

 

5. Information Sharing

We do not sell personal information.

We share information only:

  • With service providers necessary to operate the App

  • To protect the safety, rights, or integrity of users or the App

We retain personal information only as long as necessary to:

Zaber is not intended for individuals under 13 years old.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that such information has been collected, we will delete it.

 

10. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. Updates will be posted in the App with a revised “Last Updated” date.

Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance.
